What is the procedure to become a member of JUA? |
a. A national judo organization intending to join the JUA must send application to the President of the JUA. The application for membership must be supported by the following documents:
i) Rules and regulations of the organization
ii) List of officials
iii) List of affiliated clubs and/or schools
iv) List of major annual events
v) Letter of recognition written by a national Olympic Committee or the highest sporting organization of the country/region.
vi) Letter of guarantee for payment of annual membership fees
vii) Address of headquarters
viii) Present state of activities
b. The President of the JUA will consider the application and has the authority to verify the qualification of the national judo organization. Once the qualification of a national judo organization is verified by the President of the JUA as being eligible for membership of the JUA, the President with the approval of the Executive Committee may admit the application to provisional membership, but the Congress of the JUA may only confer full membership.
c. A national judo organization, which is admitted to membership of the JUA, must immediately affiliate itself to the IJF.

When was the JUA came into existence? |
Judo Union of Asia came into existence in the year 1956 with 7 National Judo Federations as its members. Chinese Taipei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Philippines and Thailand were the Founding Members of JUA. |

How many National Federations are members of the JUA? |
The members of JUA are divided into 5 zones, i.e., South East Zone, East Zone, West Zone, South Zone and Central Zone. At present JUA has 39 member national federations. Names and details of members of JUA are available at
